IMPORTANT UPDATE 17 January 2021
All Year 1 children currently in school will move to online learning on Monday 18th January until Monday 25th January. Their first day back will be on Tuesday 26th. This is due to a child testing positive for covid. Further information to be sent tomorrow.
Update on home learning for week beginning 18th January
As of Monday 18th January, we should be moving over to Google Classrooms. This means that we will no longer be using our class pages to upload work, instead we will be having live lessons over on Google Classrooms where your PowerPoint tasks will also be found. Please look out for an email with your Google Classroom log ins and further instructions. These have now been sent out- along with your Bug Club and Monster Phonics log in.
Please can you be sure to join the Year 1 Online Learning Group as well as the Sequoia Online Learning Group. This is where the meeting links will be found,
As you may have noticed, our class pages have been crashing. We think this is due to the amount of content on the page so we will be keeping them to a minimum. To stop this from happening again, we are taking down past learning and won't be able to post children's work onto the website. I would still love to receive and look at the wonderful and impressive home learning you are all doing so please keep emailing them in!
13th January
Story Club is officially on! Yay!
Every Wednesday until we are all back together again.
Rules to enter:
1. Wearing a pair of cosy pyjamas! Yes, I will be wearing mine too!
2.A great big smile!
3.Listening ears on!
4. A cup of hot chocolate ( or any other drink you enjoy!) No spilling!
''Reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It helps them develop language and listening skills and prepares them to understand the written word. When the rhythm and melody of language become a part of a child's life, learning to read will be as natural as learning to walk and talk.''
''There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.” – Walt Disney

A message for your adults at home…
With everyone spending more time online at the moment, you might want to refresh your awareness of online parental controls and guidance. We have received a link to an easily accessible resource hub that does not need any login or registration. Go to:
