Black Lives Matter

At The Jenny Hammond Primary School we strive to promote equality and celebrate diversity in all its forms. We feel it is important to address and reflect the ongoing events across the world in response to George Floyd’s death, standing up and challenging racism and inequality at all levels.

We want you to know that we take the Black Lives Matter movement seriously, we acknowledge what has happened and whilst we have been having discussions with our children and staff we will be continuing the work hard with our school community to raise awareness, challenge discrimination and support ‘Change.’

Please take the time to read the letter in the link below where you will find more information and a chance to take part in a Black Lives Matter competition, sponsored by The National Education Union (NEU), the largest education union in Europe. The competition is part of the special launch of the 100 Great Black Britons campaign created by Patrick Vernon OBE to celebrate the continued legacy and achievements of Black people in Britain.
